The ICOA Commissioners

  

The Governor appoints the seven members of the Commission, and its administrator, and they serve at his pleasure. The current commissioners are:

Commission members may not hold any other elective or appointive office, state, county or municipal, or any office in any political party organization during their appointment. No more than four (4) members of the commission can belong to the same political party.

At least four (4) members must be age sixty (60) or older. Each shall be a citizen of the United States and of the state of Idaho. They shall be appointed to assure appropriate geographic representation of the state.

The commissioners shall be appointed for a term of four (4) years;
provided, that in the case of death of any commissioner, or his or her removal from office as hereinbefore provided, the governor shall appoint a successor from the same geographic area. All commissioners shall be appointed for a term of four (4) years on a staggered basis. No commissioner shall serve more than two (2) consecutive terms, except that a commissioner appointed to fill an
unexpired term may be appointed to two (2) additional full terms.

The commission elects its chairman and vice-chairman during the first meeting of each calendar year. The commission must meet at least once every three (3) months and at such times as may be called by the chairman.
